Job Description

Job Overview We are looking for a skilled Shop Floor Inspector with hands-on CNC machining experience to help maintain high standards of quality and precision in our manufacturing operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring that all parts produced meet customer and internal specifications, supporting both quality control and efficient production. Duties Perform in-process, first-piece inspections on machined parts using precision measurement tools Inspect components for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and adherence to engineering drawings and specifications Inspect parts on CNC machines as needed to support production and validate setups Interpret complex technical drawings, including GD&T, and verify tolerances using tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and CMMs Document inspection findings clearly and accurately; maintain records for audits and traceability Identify and report non-conformances, assist in corrective actions, and support root cause analysis Work closely with machinists and programmers to resolve quality issues and improve part conformance Participate in continuous improvement activities and uphold safety standards in the inspection and machining areas Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Entry level or up to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on inspection and CNC machining Working knowledge of CNC machine operation (e.g., mills, lathes) Proficient with precision measuring equipment and interpreting technical drawings Familiar with
GD&T, ISO 9001
standards, and inspection best practices Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
