Job Description

Summary Are you an experienced Quality Engineer looking for a challenging and impactful temporary role? Southco's Honeoye Falls facility is seeking a highly motivated Temporary Quality Engineer to join our team for a 6-month assignment. Due to a significant increase in work load and new initiatives to reformat parts of the Quality Management System, we are looking for a dedicated professional to help us improve the QMS while managing our workload and maintain our high standards of quality. In this role, you'll be instrumental in supporting our quality department by processing critical quality control documents and ensuring the smooth flow of our inspection systems. This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your expertise and make a tangible difference in our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Depending on your experience, your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Processing Quality Control Documents:
Authoring and managing essential quality control documents, such as inspection plans.
Setting Up Inspection Systems:
Programming inspection plans within our automated ERP system to streamline quality checks.
Authoring Reworks:
Creating detailed rework instructions to address non-conforming products.
Compiling Material Certifications:
Gathering and organizing material certifications for the shipment of finished products. Programming Inspection Equipment (if experienced): Programming and setting up automated visual inspection systems like Keyence, Smartscope, CMM, or VMM for new inspections. Performing MSA for Launch (if experienced): Conducting initial Measurement System Analysis (MSA) for new product launches in production,
PPAP, and FAI Qualifications:
Proven experience in a Quality Engineer, Senior Quality Technician, or Metrology Technician role. Strong understanding of quality control processes and documentation. Experience with ERP systems and data entry. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Prior experience with programming automated visual inspection systems (e.g., Keyence, Smartscope, CMM, VMM) and performing MSAs is highly desirable. Prior experience in interpreting part drawings for dimensional tolerances, and measurement with handheld gages. You may apply for this position online by selecting the button.
