Job Description

Position:
Technician, Quality Assurance Reports to:
Manager, Quality Assurance Position Summary:
Perform activities consisting of inspecting finished product trays, ingredients, and processes, as fruit and vegetable trays proceed through stages of assembly process. Record all the information collected throughout the production runs and evaluate everyday activities. Help implement and follow instructions, assembly specifications, and product development in the different stages of processing while supporting the QA Manager in his daily activities. Maintain and collect all documentation which may include warehouse and production to be put in the daily package for Management review or product release. Enforce all food safety programs & documentation for accuracy and compliance with HACCP, SQF, SOP and SSOP plans, FDA Regulations and Standards and GMP requirements. Quality Control of incoming Goods (QCIG) inspection technician will be required to inspect every incoming load to Country Fresh Inc. Each shipment of ingredients and product packaging material needs to be inspected before accepting the load. The following data must be collected to ensure lot traceability and to ensure that we are receiving the highest quality ingredients. The quality attributes or defects of each load must be recorded on F-0160 Receiving Inspection Log. The QC tech will be responsible for making recommendations to management for decisions based on product quality including acceptance, receiving under protection and even rejections. Tech will also have the responsibility for follow up on any quality defect issues and monitoring FIFO procedures.
Position Responsibilities:
Monitor SOPs, CCPs, and SSOPs (when applicable) Tracking ingredient and product (Traceability - Lot Tracking) Measuring quality and safety of ingredients for WIP and finished product Monitoring adherence to specifications Measuring controls for the environment. Quality in all shipments of finished goods. Assures correct customer specifications of all products. Collect CCP data. Collect and monitor sample retains of all products produced during the working day. Follow up with the HACCP program to ensure all finished goods meet specifications. Follow up with implemented programs to ensure compliance with GMP's by all employees and other personnel in the production facility. Aids in the administration of biological monitoring procedures to determine the efficacy of sanitation methods. ATP swabs each morning upon opening & monthly microbiological/environmental samples. Monitors employee practices to aid in a pest-free environment. Ensures employees are wearing appropriate PPE. Take an active role in assisting Production in the reduction of quality failures and for stretching the plant to improved results in all areas of quality. Provide technical assistance where needed. Suggest disciplinary action of personnel not complying with company policies and rules. Maintains confidentiality of information and documents that she/he comes in contact with or has access to.
Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Excellent verbal and written communication skills Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; must be able to use a calculator Must have proven attention to detail Must be able to work flexible hours and schedules Basic food-safety knowledge 6 months of previous food-handling or food manufacturing experience is desirable Positive attitude Bilingual (English/Spanish) desired Be able to work in a cold environment (<40F) for long periods of time Problem-solving abilities/root cause analysis. Good time management skills Good people and decision-making skills. Logical and methodical. Good follow up/follow through Professional comportment, assertive, and able to process information and provide an effective follow-up on objectives.
