We provide the highest level of experienced partnership to our clients regardless of the scope of the job. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Associate to join our warehouse team. In this role, the individual will be responsible for managing the inventory, distribution, and maintenance of tools and materials. Key responsibilities include ensuring that materials are accurately delivered to job sites and that tools are readily available, properly maintained, and in good working condition. This role is essential in supporting the smooth and efficient progress of construction activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Receive incoming materials, verify quantities, and inspect for damages. Safely unload, organize, and store materials in designated areas within the warehouse. Maintain accurate records of all tools and equipment stored in the tool room. Receive, inspect, and record incoming material, tools, equipment, verifying quantities and conditions against purchase orders or packing slips. Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies and ensure adequate stock levels. Issue material, tools, and equipment to construction workers according to established procedures and documentation. Record tool issuance and return transactions accurately, including serial numbers and condition assessments. Inspect tools and equipment for damage, wear, or malfunction, and perform basic repairs or arrange for maintenance services. Clean and sanitize tools and equipment regularly to ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards. Coordinate with external vendors or service providers for specialized tool repairs or maintenance. Ensure that all tools and equipment meet safety standards and regulatory requirements. Report any safety hazards, incidents, or violations to the appropriate authorities or supervisors promptly. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and tool room, ensuring that material and tools are stored in designated locations and properly labeled. Input purchase orders and vendor data onto system database. Generate, manage, track, and close out purchase orders. Request and review quotes and place orders. Perform other duties as assigned.Required Skills:
Previous experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a construction or industrial setting. Knowledge of basic inventory management principles and practices. Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently. Knowledge of construction tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, and machinery. Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor tool repairs and maintenance tasks. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and/or work independently with minimal supervision. Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures applicable to construction sites. Proficiency in using inventory management software or databases is advantageous. Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks as required in a construction environment. Valid driver's license to support delivery of material, tools, and equipment to job sitesEducation and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus. At least three (3) to five (5) years of related experience in the construction warehousing industry.Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
