Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Quality Lead Technician / CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Operator to join our team. This pivotal role involves overseeing quality control processes, conducting precise dimensional inspections, and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as
AS9100, ISO 13485, ISO
9001, and ASME codes. The ideal candidate will bring mechanical knowledge, proficiency with quality inspection tools, and a passion for manufacturing excellence to support our continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements/Preferred:
CMM operation (required) Xray Testing (Preferred) Tinsel Testing (Preferred) Part layout and inspection (required) Duties Lead and perform comprehensive quality inspections using precision measuring instruments including bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) such as PC-DMIS. Operate and maintain CMM equipment to verify part dimensions against schematics, blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications. Conduct dimensional inspections on machined components to ensure adherence to strict tolerances and quality standards. Review engineering drawings, schematics, and CAD files created in SolidWorks or similar software to interpret design intent and inspection requirements. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions aligned with
AS9100, ISO 13485, ISO
9001, and ASME standards. Maintain detailed inspection records, calibration logs, and quality documentation for audits and compliance purposes. Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing inspection data and recommending process enhancements. Requirements Proven experience operating coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), especially PC-DMIS or equivalent software. Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and dimensional inspection techniques. Mechanical knowledge related to machining processes, tooling setups, and CNC operations. Familiarity with industry standards including AS9100 aerospace quality management system, ISO 13485 medical device standards, ISO 9001 quality management principles, and ASME codes & standards. Proficiency with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and schematics interpretation. Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately; experience with CAD software like SolidWorks is a plus. Excellent math skills for measurement calculations and data analysis. Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to quality assurance in manufacturing environments. Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of tooling setups and machining processes; experience with CNC machinery is desirable.
