Skill Set :
Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), sanitation standards, and food safety requirements within a manufacturing environment Experience inspecting raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods while maintaining accurate quality records and supporting corrective actions. Ability to work in a lab setting, perform sampling and testing activities, and calibrate or utilize basic laboratory equipment.
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality and Food Safety professional to support day-to-day quality assurance activities within a food production environment. This role is responsible for ensuring all raw materials, ingredients, packaging, in-process items, and finished goods meet established safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Job Duties:
Conduct inspections and evaluations of raw materials, ingredients, packaging, production processes, and finished products to ensure compliance with internal quality, safety, and legal standards Support laboratory functions, including sample handling, testing coordination, and equipment calibration activities Monitor incoming materials against defined specifications and initiate corrective actions when non-conformances are identified Perform ongoing assessments of production operations to verify adherence to established procedures and quality expectations Inspect finished goods to confirm product integrity, safety, and conformance; collaborate with production teams to resolve deviations Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) through routine audits of production areas, employee hygiene practices, and sanitation conditions Support microbiological sampling activities and assist with internal audits as required Maintain accurate and complete documentation of inspections, test results, and corrective actions Coordinate sanitation verification activities with production leadership and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in food science or related field preferred PCQI, SQF, or HACCP certification preferred Prior experience working in a laboratory or quality assurance environment Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment calibration procedures 1-2 years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in a food manufacturing environment Strong communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving Working knowledge of GMPs and food safety principles Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information. #infood
