Monday- Friday Day Shift /Starts at 3 weeks
Vacation Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for the provision of homemaker/personal care, community access, transportation, pre-vocational/vocational skill building and skill development services to individuals with disabilities in their work environment. This position is dependent on the supervision and guidance of the individuals' service plans and immediate supervisor(s). Essential functions, duties & responsibilities: Provides monitoring, supervision, assistance, skill development, and behavior support and intervention to individuals served to ensure their safety, health and welfare according to their needs and service plans. Provides assistance with basic personal care and grooming, including bathing, dental and hair care, toileting, dressing and clothing/laundry care to individuals as assigned, and according to the needs and requirements of the service plans. Provides, documents, and communicates results of habilitation services including pre-vocational, vocational training, activities of daily living skills, and functional academic training as dictated by the ISP. Provides transportation for individuals served to and from day program sites, community sites and events for social and leisure activity, and work-related activities. Completes, reports, and documents medication administration and health-related activities as required and trained according to the individual's service plan, and according to the requirements of agency procedures and certification systems as needed. Monitors for Major Unusual Incidents (MUIs) and Usual Incidents (UIs) and takes immediate action to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the individuals being supported. Reports all MUIs/UIs properly as required by TRS Policy utilizing appropriate channels of communication. Assist clients in completing off-site job duties up to the standard of the outside employer and do final inspections on jobs. This includes but is not limited to lawn care, janitorial jobs, etc. Completes financial records as required for client personal funds, petty cash systems, and related purchases, including the routine obtaining of receipts. Completes pre-trip/post-trip inspections for vehicles of NMT use and bills NMT trips appropriately using DataPlus Software. Follows agency protocols regarding confidentiality of information related to individuals served, coworkers, and agency business. Acts as a role model for individuals served, and demonstrates a positive image of the agency and individuals served to ensure community inclusion and engagement.
Qualifications and specific job requirements:
Must have High School Diploma or G. E. D. Must have all certifications required for employment by DODD and renew them annually or as required. Must have 1 year of Developmental Disabilities care experience or relevant skills/experience Must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform physical assistance and intervention tasks. Must have and maintain current driver's license and driving record according to insurance and regulatory requirements. Must possess basic skills for following written and verbal instructions, and for communicating client and job-related issues orally and in writing. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as assigned to ensure the needs of the individuals are met. Must adhere to all HIPAA Regulations at all times. Adheres to all local, state, and federal laws and TRS Policies and Procedures. May be required to work variable scheduled days and hours, including holidays and weekends, as needed. Completes all other duties as assigned by the Program Director, Habilitation Manager, Detail Shop Supervisor, and CEO May be exposed to challenging behaviors that may cause injury and require intervention techniques. May be exposed to chemicals commonly found in office, residential or day program environment such as toner, cleaning substances, oil, etc.
