SUMMARY:
The QA Technician is responsible for performing analytical and organoleptic evaluations of ingredients and/or Finished product to ensure compliance with Food Safety (HACCP, FSMA), Regulatory (FDA), Quality and Customer specifications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform daily analytical testing, including Brix, pH, and Titratable acidity, on finished product samples.
Generates and distributes:
Tally Records, Formula Sheets, and the production schedules, from the published Production Plan. At the end of the production day, collects and scans back to the Production Planner; Tally Sheets, Formula Sheets, and the Production Schedule notes. Communicate out of spec test results to production formulators and assist with troubleshooting. Perform daily testing using ATP system to verify proper sanitation of production equipment. Enter all testing results into database for further review by management team. Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly calibration checks on all testing equipment, including Brix, pH and temperature monitoring devices, used in the production environment while documenting results. Communicate in a timely manner any deviations (out of spec) to the Quality Assurance Manager. Complete or assist with training additional plant personnel on how to properly calibrate and use equipment used in the production environment. Create and issue labels for Finished Goods Perform line monitoring and auditing to ensure Food Safety and Quality of products. Fill out appropriate paperwork. Prepare product samples for external lab testing Complete and/or assist with Environmental Monitoring of plant operations per Belton SOPs. Prepare samples for external lab testing. Maintain and promote a Quality and Food Safety culture to production staff. Maintain Quality laboratory in a clean, safe and orderly manner on a daily basis. Constantly looking for ways to improve SOPs, SSOPs, company culture toward Food Safety and Quality and efficiency. Support continuous improvement projects throughout Belton Foods Achieve, maintain and utilize HACCP Training for Continuous Improvement Inventory lab supplies and chemicals. File applicable paperwork when needed Assist with satisfying requirements to preserve our SQF Level 2 certification, which may include completing forms, writing procedures, performing audits, etc. Participate in meetings dealing with quality issues. Assist in production environment when necessary for continued operation. Complete any additional tasks assigned by the Quality Manager for the successful operation of the Quality or Production departments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
