Mason, OH Position Summary The Quality Technician provides administrative, documentation, and data management support to the Corporate Quality team within a deep draw stamping manufacturing environment certified to IATF 16949 and
ISO 14001.
This role is responsible for maintaining quality documentation, supporting structured problem-solving activities, and ensuring accurate entry and tracking of customer and compliance-related data. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools to support quality reporting, corrective actions, and audit readiness. The Quality Technician works closely with cross-functional teams and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring adherence to quality system requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support customer and internal corrective action processes by gathering data, maintaining documentation, and updating 8D reports.
  • Track corrective action progress and follow up with cross-functional teams to ensure timely closure and compliance with customer expectations.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize, analyze, and format quality data, including creation of charts, graphs, and dashboards
  • Prepare professional-quality reports and PowerPoint presentations for management review, customer meetings, and quality metric tracking.
  • Assist in drafting, formatting, revising, and controlling standardized work instructions, procedures, and forms using Microsoft Word.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with Quality Management System (QMS) document control and revision requirements.
  • Receive training and support data entry for special quality and compliance projects, including the International Material Data System (IMDS).
  • Maintain accurate information within customer-specific online portals, including packaging, logistics, and quality reporting systems.
  • Organize, maintain, and archive quality records (electronic and physical) in accordance with record retention and audit readiness requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and readily accessible.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and special quality projects as assigned by the Corporate Quality Manager.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect information and support process improvements across departments.
Working Conditions:
  • Office-based role with frequent interaction in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to production areas, machinery noise, and shop-floor activities as required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Standing and walking for up to 40% of the workday.
  • Ability to move throughout office and manufacturing areas as needed.
Required Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of quality control experience in manufacturing setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to create charts, format complex documents, organize data, and produce professional reports.
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Willingness and aptitude to learn manufacturing quality systems, software, and customer requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to draft clear, concise work instructions, reports, and professional correspondence.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with writing or formatting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or Work Instructions.
  • Basic understanding of quality problem-solving formats (like 8D) or quality management systems (ISO 9001 / IATF 16949).
