In addition, the position helps sustain the Quality Management System (QMS) and calibrate and manage measurement instruments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Interprets engineering drawings, schematics and specifications. Confers with engineering and manufacturing staff to establish quality requirements. Establishes sampling plans and evaluates product in accordance with such plans at specified stages in production process to substantiate specific fabrication processes. Records and archives measurement and test data, evaluates the data statistically and prepares reports and briefs for affected department leaders. Recommends corrective actions, improvements or modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve a desired quality level. Coordinates destructive and nondestructive tests to evaluate performance, life and material properties. Conducts quality audits. Approves First Articles. Calibrates and manages measurement instruments. Maintains and controls quality documents. Develops warranty/scrap cost reduction initiatives. Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ISO-9000
Quality Management System experience/training. Measurement instruments calibration experience/training. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access using Windows or NT platform. Drawing reading and geometrical tolerance interpretation experience/training. Working Knowledge of PC-Dmis, Polyworks
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents (drawings, specifications and government standards), general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to perform basic statistical analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
