Full-time Position Summary:
To ensure the understanding and compliance of the needs and requirements of our customers after mass production start-up by conforming to customer requirements through training, measuring, data collection, SPC and analyzing product. A resource for quality-related issues for internal and external customers. Verifies that quality provisions are met in relation to Industry Products processes and
IATF16949
requirements. To provide technical resources to IPC as required per Measurement System Analysis and the calibration system for all gauges used in production. To work within the APQP team in helping to determine fixtures and or gages that would assist in the conformance to customer requirements by using SPC. Write detailed work instructions for all gauges that will be used by manufacturing and quality associates. Conform to customer requirements by performing defect-free work and continually improving our processes and the effectiveness of our Quality Management System.
Qualifications:
Required:
Learn quality control processes. Learn materials and processes. Reading skills necessary to perform job processes. Prioritize Work with people Maneuver 50 pounds. Traveling to customer or supplier sites for quality related issues. Fit into team and continuous improvement environment. Good critical thinking skills. Use and understand various measuring equipment (i.e. Acu-gauge, calipers, micrometers, pin gages, etc.) Work overtime as required. Learn computer programs necessary to perform the job. Self-motivated Read and interpret blue prints. Train associates in the use of gages.
Preferred:
Ability to work under pressure situations. Knowledge of IPC parts, customers and customer requirements. Past experience in Quality. Desire to make improvements. Advanced math skills and their application in job processes. Advanced knowledge in MSA and calibration. Advance SPC knowledge. Ability to operate Acu-gauge Metrology Experience with supplier of automotive parts and assemblies. Experience using quality-related software tools such as AIAG programs, SPC programs.
Primary Position responsibilities:
(Each will start with a verb) 1 . Resource for manufacturing
  • Provide quality inspection instructions and communicate all quality requirements after mass production start-up.
  • Provide tolerances and visual standards as required.
  • Provide necessary assistance to manufacturing employees to insure compliance to requirement. 2. Initiate nonconformance report.
  • Involve appropriate individuals in decision making per P-QA907.
  • Participate in corrective action as needed. 3. Participate in dock audits on a monthly basis.
  • Document all findings.
4. Continuous training to maintain customer requirements. 5. Gage calibration in compliance to
P-QA908. 6.
Quality inspection (first and last part tool validation)
  • Perform first, in process and last piece tool validations as required.
  • Perform detailed inspections using expert knowledge of quality.
  • Perform sample part inspections. 7. Quality floor inspection
  • Perform roving inspections.
  • Identify problems that develop at the machine of line because of process, machinery or materials.
  • Giving individual attention to internal customers to help establish good understanding of external customer requirements.
  • Provide input to predictive and preventive maintenance and continuous improvement efforts at IPC.
Assist in the reduction of internal and external PPM's. 8. Maintain appropriate records and files on the network system in compliance with
IATF16949. 9.
Gage calibration/measurement system analysis.
  • Develop and maintain a gauge calibration system that meets all
IATF16949
requirements per
P-QA908. 10.
Repeatability and reproducibility studies.
  • Set-up and interpret R&R studies.
  • Make recommendations for gauge improvement. 11. APQP
  • Participate in APQP to define fixtures and gauges.
12. Assist in training of manufacturing in using fixtures, gauges or templates. 13. Provide the central resource and focus for quality related new part introduction and management within Industry Products. 14. See to it that the appropriate APQP documentation and requirements are fulfilled. 15. Perform tool validations on new or modified tooling. 16. Handle specific assignments related to quality problems at customer or supplier sites as required. 17. Provide liaison between Industry Products and the customer on specific quality-related or new part introduction issues. 18.
NCR/Corrective action system:
  • Assist associates in properly identifying suspect product per P-QA907.
  • Initiate NCR and corrective action as required as stated per P-QA904.
  • Evaluate nonconforming product and assist in determining disposition with appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in brainstorming meetings with appropriate personnel to determine the most effective corrective action.
  • Ensure disposition of suspect/nonconforming products carried out per P-QA907.
  • Audit the corrective actions after implementation for verification as required.
  • Log NCR/Corrective action in system.
  • Provide charts on NCR's as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to include special projects, programs and developmental activities.
