Job Description

Job Overview The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring finished products meet quality standards and specifications through visual inspections, dimensional checks, and documentation review. This role works closely with shop leadership to verify workmanship, materials, and completed jobs while maintaining safety, accuracy, and compliance. Shift- 7pm to 7am Key Responsibilities Inspect paint quality and welds to ensure compliance with specifications Perform dimensional inspections using tape measures and basic measuring tools Conduct 100% visual inspection of welds prior to job completion Verify materials and part numbers against prints and documentation Sign off on completed jobs once quality standards are met Coordinate inspection results with shop foreman and production leaders Report quality issues or shortages to plant management Monitor finishing operations to ensure proper completion Perform inspections in varying conditions, including outdoor and adverse weather when required Operate forklift and assist with moving steel materials as needed Maintain accurate inspection records and reports Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Prior QA/QC, inspection, welding, or manufacturing experience preferred Ability to read and understand prints, layouts, and tape measurements Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Basic math skills Mechanical aptitude and common-sense problem solving Standing and walking for extended periods Bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching as required Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly; occasional heavier lifting with assistance Requires close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception Must maintain situational awareness around cranes and moving equipment
