Job Description

Pacific Recycling, Inc. is a family-owned scrap metal recycling facility that values honesty and hard work. We have been recycling metal in Lane County for over 25 years and are proud to be an equal-opportunity employer. We are looking for a friendly, reliable, hard-working person to join our team immediately.
Job Summary:
Quality Control greets, directs, and assists customers—grading materials, identifying prohibited items, and coordinating with scale and equipment operators.
General Responsibilities:
Inspect inbound and outbound loads Material grading - ensure products meet specifications and sort/separate accordingly Prohibited materials (sealed containers, hazardous materials, explosives, etc.) Direct and assist customers with material unloading Direct traffic effectively Communicate clearly and efficiently via radio to scale and equipment operators Use forklifts for unloading assistance
Physical Demands:
Frequently required to reach with hands and arms Able to talk and hear Standing, sitting, walking, squatting, bending, lifting, reaching, and grasping Dexterity of hands and fingers Lift up to 50 pounds from the floor to waist level and carry such objects for at least 30 feet. Exposed to moving mechanical parts Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, heat, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment varies from loud to very loud Experience & Qualifications Must be able to communicate effectively in English to understand instructions and emergency communications 18 years of age Experience in scrapyard preferred but not required Self-motivated and eager to learn Reliable with the ability to adhere to a work schedule Forklift certification (Preferred)
