We are currently seeking a Quality Control Inspector II to join our team in Akron, PA. It is an exciting time to join Rosenberger North America! The Quality Control Inspector II inspects, audits, and reports on materials, processes, and products using variable or attribute measuring instruments and techniques to ensure conformance with the organization's quality standards. They are responsible to ensure that the product or service that RNA provides is fit for purpose, is consistent, and meets both external and internal requirements. This includes compliance to internal specifications and customer expectations. Monitors assembly and/or service processes to ensure compliance and ensures processes are being followed and are in control.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Use of ERP system to look up information as needed (i.e., part drawings, routings, instructions). Understands the work order packets (traveler: BOM, routings, drawings, etc.). Interprets internal or customer requirements on drawings and other documentation. Inspects parts to required inspection levels per internal or customer specified requirements. Uses various measurement equipment to inspect parts (Microscope, Keyence, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Nikon, etc.) and has a good understanding of measuring units, millimeters, and inches. Generates NCMR's for non-conforming material. Collaborates with production on addressing non-conforming material. Performs inspection on raw materials, components, in-process, or finished assemblies. Writes QIP (Quality Inspection Plans) and IIIR (Initial Incoming Inspection Report) for parts. Use of Incoming Inspection report to set priorities. Completes incoming inspection of parts by using QIP or IIIR. Assists with in-house calibration activities. Updates applicable procedures and generates visual aids as needed. Effectively communicates with internal and external customers. Participates in Continuous Improvement Activities. Performs other duties as required in support of the department and the company.
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent. 2-4 years of quality experience. 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail; works methodically and efficiently. Good understanding of measuring units, especially millimeters and inches. Basic computer and math skills to calibrate and measure specifications. Ability to use measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers, and computers. Blueprint reading capabilities. Documentation and reporting skills. Teamwork and collaboration. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook) and willingness to learn more. Working knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001, AS9100) and mil standards. Experience with IPC 620 standards or willingness to learn standard. Thorough knowledge of quality forms/records maintenance.
