Job Description

Primary Purpose :
The Quality Technician is responsible for monitoring the production process, testing the products at various stages, and identifying any defects or issues that may arise. The individual must then document their findings and report them to management, suggesting possible solutions to improve the quality of the products. They also play a crucial role in implementing and maintaining quality control systems in the facility. Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions of the
Job:
Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
  • Supports and assists Quality Engineering
  • Perform regular quality assessments on all outgoing products for shipping
  • Collaborate with production team to identify and address quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Provides training and guidance to the production team on quality control procedures and practices
  • Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations
  • Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services
  • Measure product dimensions, examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications
  • Utilizes measuring and testing equipment to perform inspections such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Conducts quality audits of the manufacturing process to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulations and standards
  • Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records
  • Conducts root cause analysis of quality issues to identify and address underlying causes
  • Assists with investigation and resolution of customer complaints related to product quality.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize statistical quality data for improvement purposes
  • Ensure safety regulations and industry standards are met to maintain an optimal working environment
  • Communicates effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and production supervisors, to ensure quality objectives are met
  • Assists in creation of Manufacturing Plans, FMEA's
  • Issues NCR's for Nonconforming material
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Travel:
<5% to off-site calibration supplier sites.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of quality experience in a Technician, Inspector or similar role.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Ability to document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
  • Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods.
  • A strong understanding of measuring units, especially millimeters and inches
  • Strong attention to detail; works methodically and efficiently.
  • Communicates well with production personnel, Quality and/or other departments as needed.
  • Reliable.
  • Trustworthy/honest.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook) and willingness to learn more.
  • Working knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001, AS9100) is highly preferred.
