Job Description
Crispin Valve is a family owned business whose origins date back to 1905. For over 110 years the company has been a premier manufacturer of valves for municipal water and wastewater projects, holding the first U.S. design patent for the air valve. Position Summary The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that manufactured valves and related components meet company quality standards, engineering specifications, and customer requirements. This position performs inspections throughout the production process including incoming materials, in-process manufacturing, and final product inspection prior to shipment. Key Responsibilities Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of valves and valve components. Verify products meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Inspect machined parts for dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, and material compliance. Conduct visual and functional inspections on assembled valves. Perform or witness pressure testing, leak testing, and functional testing of valves. Ensure testing procedures comply with company standards and applicable industry codes. Record inspection results and maintain quality documentation and inspection records. Complete non-conformance reports (NCRs) when defects or quality issues are identified. Communicate quality concerns to production supervisors and quality management. Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality procedures and work instructions. Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the quality system. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Technical or vocational training in machining, manufacturing, or quality preferred 2+ years experience in quality inspection in a manufacturing environment Experience in machining, metal components, or valve manufacturing preferred Experience using precision measuring instruments such as: Calipers Micrometers Height gauges Thread gauges Pressure testing equipment Benefits
