- Full-time Lehigh Valley Plastics, a leading manufacturer of precision plastic components and engineered solutions, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Quality Coordinator to join our team.
This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining requirements for records management, document control, and the control of electronic inspection data. The Manufacturing Quality Coordinator will analyze quality issues, identify root causes, and drive corrective and preventive actions. This position plays a key role in supporting continuous improvement across production processes and the Quality Management System (QMS).
Responsibilities:
1. Manage PPAP, FAI, and customer reporting requirements, including the creation and maintenance of all supporting documentation. 2. Compile dimensional inspection data from inspectors and organize it into PPAP and other required customer submission reports. 3. Conduct weekly reviews of non-conformance areas, perform root cause analysis, and initiate Corrective Actions (CAs) or Opportunities for Improvement (OIs) as appropriate. 4. Oversee company quality metrics, including record management, trend analysis, and root cause identification; drive corrective or improvement actions based on data insights. 5. Collaborate with Engineering and Production to review non-conforming materials and Returned Goods Reports (RGRs); perform root cause analysis and initiate CAs or OIs as needed. 6. Participate in and support company-wide corrective and improvement initiatives (CAs and OIs). 7. Support the quoting process by interpreting quality requirements and customer specifications. 8. Establish quality standards for new product launches (Red Dot parts) and develop related documentation and shop-floor processes. 9. Program and maintain Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to ensure accurate inspection processes. 10. Support inspection activities, including first article, in-process, and final inspections, working closely with inspectors as needed.
Requirements:
- Proficient in the use of inspection equipment, including pin gauges, measurement gauges, CMMs, and other precision tools.
- Experience with APQP and PPAP processes, including documentation and submission requirements.
- Training in Six Sigma methodologies and working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
- Familiarity with
ISO 9001
2015 standards and quality management system requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints with a high degree of accuracy.
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage all levels of the organization, present quality findings and improvement initiatives to leadership, and act as a liaison between Quality Control, shop floor personnel, and external customers.
