Job Description
Now Hiring Quality Assurance Technicians for a Company in Chambersburg, PA! Openings currently available on night shift- 5pm-5am- 2/2/3 $20-22/hr to start Full-time/long-term! Job Description This role performs routine laboratory testing and related quality activities under direct supervision to ensure products are safe, high-quality, and meet all customer requirements and specifications. The position also supports plant operations by answering quality and processing questions and helping to maintain consistent process controls. Responsibilities Perform a variety of routine laboratory tests and other laboratory work to support production of safe, high-quality products that meet customer specifications. Learn to accurately test, monitor, and document quality results and processing data for products produced. Audit, verify, and follow up on process controls such as weight checks, batch sheets, FSP, plant inspections, receiving inspections, and other quality checkpoints. Support process variations as they relate to formula adjustments to satisfy customer requirements and maintain product consistency. Maintain a high and effective level of communication with all operating departments to address quality and processing questions. Learn to operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment in proper working condition. Ensure all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), sanitation, and housekeeping practices are followed according to expectations. Learn, understand, and apply the functionality of the Unshippable Program to prevent nonconforming product from leaving the facility. Utilize the AS400 computer system to perform necessary quality functions and data entry tasks. Maintain and complete all quality files and documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Achieve and maintain all required training certifications necessary for the position and progress toward Tech T-2 certification. Assist plant operations personnel with quality-related inquiries and processing questions as needed. Essential Skills Ability to perform routine laboratory tests accurately under direct supervision. Strong attention to detail when testing, monitoring, and documenting quality results and processing data. Capability to learn and follow established quality assurance and quality control procedures. Effective communication skills to maintain a high level of interaction with operating departments. Ability to learn to operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment safely and correctly. Understanding of and commitment to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), sanitation, and housekeeping standards. Ability to learn and apply the Unshippable Program to control nonconforming product. Basic computer literacy and ability to utilize systems such as AS400 for quality functions. Organizational skills to maintain complete and accurate files and documentation. Willingness and ability to complete all required training and obtain necessary certifications for the role. Additional Skills & Qualifications Interest in developing a career in quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing or food processing environment. Comfort working in a fast-paced production setting with close collaboration between quality and operations teams. Willingness to learn new systems, processes, and equipment as responsibilities grow. The environment has strong food-related aromas, including sauce-based products such as mustard, barbecue sauce, and various pungent dressings. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chambersburg, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.81 - $20.81/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
