The Quality Technician helps maintain inspection accuracy, product integrity, and quality documentation while building foundational skills in optical inspection, metrology, and quality systems. This role directly supports Clear Align's mission to help customers see clearly and act decisively in mission-critical environments. In Your First Year You Will (What Success Looks Like) First 90 Days - Learn, Contribute, and Build Confidence Complete training in inspection procedures, quality documentation, and optical and mechanical inspection fundamentals while demonstrating accuracy in following work instructions. Perform routine visual and dimensional inspections with guidance, building consistency and confidence in your inspection work. Learn to read engineering drawings and specifications to support accurate inspection and documentation. Become familiar with standard inspection and metrology tools used in optical and mechanical inspections. Support quality documentation and maintain organized, audit-ready records. Gain exposure to mechanical and system-level inspections to understand overall product quality. By 6 Months - Build Independence and Capability Independently perform routine inspection activities and accurately document results in inspection reports and quality records. Build proficiency with standard optical & mechanical inspection and metrology equipment. Apply drawing and specification interpretation to support accurate and consistent inspection outcomes. Begin supporting system-level inspections as needed, expanding your understanding of overall product quality. Demonstrate consistency, reliability, and sound judgment in inspection and documentation practices. By 12 Months - Become a Trusted Quality Partner Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities, nonconformance documentation, and quality data collection with accuracy and consistency. Contribute to identifying quality issues and support team-driven root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts. Demonstrate ownership of inspection work, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and audit-ready documentation. Consistently follow AS9100 and/or ISO quality procedures and uphold high standards of quality and compliance. How You Know You Are Winning Inspection work is accurate, consistent, and completed on time. Quality records and reports are clear, complete, and audit-ready. You demonstrate growing confidence and capability with inspection methods and metrology tools. You identify and escalate issues appropriately, contributing to overall product quality. The team trusts your work and relies on your attention to detail and follow-through. Who You Are (Core Strengths & Competencies) Strong attention to detail with a commitment to precision and quality. Hands-on learner who is eager to build technical inspection skills. Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to recognize and escalate issues. Strong communications and interpersonal skills. Reliable, coachable, and motivated to grow in a fast-paced, technical environment. Experience inspecting optical components, and thin film optical coatings. Qualifications 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing, inspection, quality, or a technical hands-on environment preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience operating within AS9100 and/or
ISO 9000
regulated environments. Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, and basic engineering drawings. Experience working with precision tools, measurement equipment, and inspection documentation. Basic computer skills and ability to learn quality systems and reporting tools. Preferred Extras Technical training, certificate, or coursework in manufacturing, quality, optics, engineering technology, or a related field is a plus. Exposure to optical components, precision manufacturing, metrology equipment, or regulated manufacturing environments is a plus.
