Job Description

QC Inspector Job Summary Inspects, verifies, and packs coated parts to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards. Completes associated documentation and shipping requirements while supporting continuous compliance with AS9100 and Nadcap standards. QC Inspector III personnel are expected to perform and support the responsibilities of QC Inspector I and II positions and possess working knowledge of AS9100 and Nadcap requirements. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Work closely with QC Inspector I and II personnel to ensure continuous compliance with visual inspection requirements, verify processes are followed according to work instructions, and confirm finished products meet customer specifications. Perform finishing operations such as removal of masking or excess coating. Notify the Director of Quality of issues requiring management attention or discrepancies identified during process verification activities. Report defective, damaged, or nonconforming materials to the appropriate department supervisor. Complete associated documentation including process tags, rework tags, nonconforming material reports, and inspection records accurately and timely. Utilize inspection tools such as rulers, tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and related equipment while understanding their proper application and use. Maintain all controlled documents, inspection records, and test documentation in an organized, accurate, and timely manner. Ensure final inspections are completed thoroughly and in accordance with customer shipping requirements and production schedules. Pack parts to customer specifications and safeguard materials against damage during shipment. Review blueprints, drawings, specifications, customer quality clauses, and related documentation to ensure inspection requirements are met. Work collaboratively as part of the inspection team to address workflow constraints in incoming and final quality control operations. Complete assigned work within established production timelines and accurately track labor and production activities using shop software. Maintain compliance with company attendance and punctuality policies. Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with all health, safety, and PPE requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Inspection Types / Applications Aerospace components Foils Spools Military and medical applications Ocean structures Cavities MRI machinery Metal seals Qualifications Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment Ability to instruct and support QC Inspector I and II personnel regarding inspection compliance Experience working with international standards including ASTM, SAE, MIL-SPEC, and related specifications Experience inspecting, packing, and shipping manufactured parts Strong attention to detail in visual inspections and documentation Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong math and measurement skills Working knowledge of measurement instrumentation and inspection equipment Ability to read and interpret dimensional drawings and manufacturing blueprints General mechanical aptitude Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions Ability to work in an industrial environment while using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of AS9100 and Nadcap requirements Experience using advanced inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, and related tools ERP software experience Blueprint reading proficiency Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
Physical Demands & Working Conditions Work Environment:
Approximately 97% shop floor and 3% office environment
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to perform detailed visual inspections, with or without reasonable accommodation
Compensation Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
