Job Summary We are seeking a motivated Scrap Metal Inspector to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will oversee the inspection and sorting of scrap metal materials, ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality requirements. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation and material handling will help maintain efficient operations while supporting our commitment to environmental sustainability. Responsibilities Inspect incoming and outgoing scrap metal loads for quality, contamination, and proper classification Identify and separate ferrous and non-ferrous metals Verify load documentation, material grades, and weights for accuracy Detect and report hazardous or prohibited materials Maintain accurate inspection records and daily reports Communicate effectively with drivers, yard personnel, vendors, and management regarding material discrepancies or concerns Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental standards Support general yard and operational activities as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred Previous experience in scrap metal, recycling, manufacturing, or industrial operations preferred Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals strongly preferred Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift Basic computer and data entry skills Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Join us in making a difference by ensuring the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible handling of recyclable materials. $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
