Job Description

We are actively seeking 3 experienced Certified Welding Inspectors (CWI) / Quality Control Technicians to support commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and structural steel construction projects for three power plants for the next 24 months, and 5-10 more will follow after these three power plants. This is a field-focused role where your expertise directly impacts project safety, structural integrity, and code compliance. You will work alongside contractors, engineers, fabricators, and project teams on active job sites performing welding inspections, structural steel observations, QA/QC documentation, and special inspections. If you are a motivated, detail-oriented welding inspection professional who takes pride in quality workmanship and problem-solving in the field, we want to hear from you. What you'll do Perform structural steel and welding inspections per AWS D1.1, D1.3, D1.4, D1.5, AISC, and ICC Special Inspection requirements Review and interpret Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) Inspect structural steel erection, bolted connections, fabrication shops, and miscellaneous metals Verify welder qualifications and confirm certifications are current before work begins Coordinate non-destructive testing (NDT/NDE) —
UT, MT, PT, RT
— and interpret results as required Prepare detailed inspection reports, nonconformance reports (NCRs), and daily field documentation Communicate findings clearly to contractors, project managers, and engineers of record Ensure compliance with IBC, AISC, AWS, ICC, and client-specific QA/QC requirements Maintain safe work practices on all job sites per OSHA standards Required Qualifications Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification 1-2+ years of welding inspection or structural steel inspection experience Strong knowledge of
