The career opportunity for you:
Recore Electrical Contractors is seeking a NETA certified field technician responsible for performing acceptance and maintenance testing of electrical power distribution equipment in accordance with InterNational Electrical Testing Association standards. Ensures system reliability, safety, and compliance by conducting detailed inspections, diagnostic testing, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct electrical testing on low
  • medium
  • and high-voltage equipment including switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, relays, and cables Perform acceptance testing (new installations) and maintenance testing (existing systems) following NETA ATS and MTS standards Inspect electrical systems for defects, deterioration, and safety hazards Use specialized test equipment such as insulation resistance testers, power factor test sets, and relay test equipment Analyze test results and provide detailed reports with recommendations for repair or replacement Ensure compliance with industry standards such as NETA, National Fire Protection Association (e.
g., NFPA 70B/70E), and client specifications Follow strict safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and arc flash protocols Assist in troubleshooting and commissioning electrical systems Maintain accurate documentation of all testing and maintenance activities Up to 50% travel required for this position
Qualifications:
NETA (or NEDA, if your organization uses that terminology) certification or ability to obtain Strong understanding of electrical theory and power distribution systems Experience with electrical testing equipment and diagnostic procedures Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration safety regulations Willingness to travel to job sites and work in industrial environments
Preferred Skills:
Experience with relay testing and commissioning Familiarity with substation or industrial power systems Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Good written and verbal communication for reporting For the
