Job Title:
Quality Engineering Technician Job Description We are seeking a passionate and highly motivated Quality Engineering Technician to join our Production Engineering Department. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Stamping Production Engineering team by measuring panels and dies using contact and non-contact measurement systems. The successful candidate will utilize advanced tools and software to analyze data output, ensuring die and panel quality for both current and future models. Responsibilities Check body welding tooling and part accuracy using equipment such as Vectorarm, Perceptron, and FARO portable CMM. Gather part information from Digital Engineering systems, including PolyWorks, Catia, and 3D imaging software. Verify part quality using hand tools and quality checking fixtures. Support sheet metal sub-assembly and body build trials during pre-production events. Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, parts, and part fitting. Analyze part and sub-assembly data and provide feedback to project leaders. Essential Skills 2-5 years of experience in Automotive or Aerospace Quality Metrology, specifically in sheet-metal quality assurance. Proficiency with portable CMM equipment, scanners, and laser trackers such as FARO, Vectorarm, and Creaform. Experience with 3D comparison software like PolyWorks, Cam 2, Scene, and PC DMIS. Strong mechanical ability with the use of small hand tools for adjusting and modifying part datums. Strong computer skills, including MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Ability to create and maintain schedules. Capability to work weekends, holidays, off shifts, and overtime. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Physical capability to handle medium to heavy work. Flexibility and adaptability to daily changes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Self-starter and self-motivated to continuously improve skills and learn new technologies. Experience in CMM programming with scanning in automotive manufacturing. Proficiency in using software with Blue light/ATOS/Faro operation experience. Possession of a college degree in engineering, business, arts, metrology, or equivalent experience of at least 5 years in the field. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Georgetown, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $36.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
