Description Quality Inspector Camden, SC Company Overview:
Custom Profile is an employee-owned company that develops and manufactures specialty thermoplastic profile extrusions and sub-assemblies with locations in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Camden, SC and Juarez, Mexico. Our in-house tooling design and fabrication allows for complete control of quality and reduced lead times. The company boasts a blue-chip customer base, including Herman Miller, Haworth, Hon/Allsteel, Steelcase, Whirlpool, Electrolux, GE Appliance, 3M and others.
Job Description:
Reporting to Plant Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for executing various tasks required by the Quality Management System (QMS). Support the company goals of Zero Defects and 100% On-Time Delivery in a cost-efficient manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspect and disposition parts from the hold area as directed Demonstrate proper use of quality tools and gages to production employees Receiving Inspection of supplied components and outsourced parts Record data in quality reports/logs as directed Assist Production Supervisor with special projects, as needed Maintain a clean and organized work area; follow daily housekeeping and 5S standards Promote and maintain a culture and attitude of continuous improvement, working within the company team to make it more efficient, safety and an enjoyable place to work
Requirements Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum of 1 years of Quality related experience required; a suitable combination of education and experience will also be considered Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification a plus Flexibility to support on off shifts Strength in the following areas required: Integrity Attention to detail Self-motivated and Teamwork-oriented Strong communication skills (verbal and written) Excellent organizational and follow up skills Strong print reading skills, understanding of GD&T a plus Proficient in various precision measuring tools, optical comparator a plus Microsoft Office experience (Word, Outlook, Excel) Experience in the following areas is preferred: Experience with Corrective Actions ERP/MRP Experience Plastics manufacturing
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Must be able to differentiate color compared to visual standard. The noise level in our work environment is moderate. Safety glasses, hearing protection and closed-toe shoes must be worn on the production floor. Some travel, mostly local, is occasionally required.
