Job Description

Description Job Purpose:
The QC Chemistry Technician is responsible for performing routine chemical testing, sample preparation, instrument operation, and documentation to support quality control activities in accordance with approved analytical methods. This position will also provide support to day-to-day operations and functionality within the Chemistry laboratory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct all testing assignments directed by Chemistry Manager or Laboratory Supervisor. Conduct and execute laboratory work and routine testing using best-practice analytical techniques and follow laboratory GDP and cGMP requirements. Maintain, Verify, and Standardize laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and precision. Prepare solutions and standards to support analytical testing. Accurately analyze and interpret data using appropriate specifications and test methods. Responsible for maintaining housekeeping and cleanliness standards within the laboratory and work areas. Help maintain inventory of laboratory chemicals, reagents, and supplies. Follows established procedure and works under direct supervision.
Knowledge & Skills:
Excellent documentation, communication and organization skills. Basic understanding of analytical chemistry techniques and good laboratory practices gained through education and experience. Familiarity with cGMP, FDA, or ISO regulations is preferred. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. The ability and willingness to change direction and focus to meet shifting organizational and business demands. The ability to effectively manage oneself, demonstrates integrity, be productive under pressure, and development goals.
Education/Experience:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field. Previous laboratory or quality control experience preferred. Working Conditions /
Physical Requirements:
This position requires bending, typing, lifting (up to 40 lbs.), standing, sitting and walking throughout the facility. This position encounters the following environmental factors: hazardous materials including HPLC solvents, chemical reagents, acids, and other non-specified hazardous materials that are project specific. This position requires safety glasses and other non-specified personal protective equipment to be worn as necessary.
