Job Description

Summary:
The Vehicle Inspector is responsible for performing comprehensive inspections of completed vehicles to ensure they meet Isuzu's quality, safety, and performance standards prior to shipment. This position plays a key role in safeguarding product integrity by identifying, recording, and communicating any nonconformities, verifying corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement activities. The Vehicle Inspector ensures that all inspection procedures and documentation comply with company standards and quality system requirements, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and brand reputation.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Conducts visual and functional inspections of completed vehicles, including underbody, exterior, interior, and system checks. Compares inspection results against approved standards, drawings, and assembly manuals. Identifies, records, and reports defects or nonconformities to the Team Leader or Quality personnel. Verifies completion and accuracy of rework and repairs prior to final sign-off. Maintains traceability and documentation in accordance with Isuzu's quality management requirements. Supports process audits and assist in maintaining compliance with ISO and IATF standards. Adheres to all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area. Participates in training and development to improve inspection accuracy and efficiency. Recommends opportunities for quality or process improvements. Supports on-the-job training for new hires Performs other duties as assigned to support section and departmental goals. Required Education, Training, & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. 2+ years of experience in automotive inspection, assembly, or manufacturing environment. Basic understanding of quality inspection principles and defect classification. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Knowledge of automotive assembly and inspection standards. Ability to read inspection sheets, part drawings, and assembly references. Basic mechanical aptitude; commercial vehicle knowledge preferred. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic documentation tools.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods, bend, reach, and move between inspection areas. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, machinery, and varying temperatures. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed. Must wear required PPE (safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, etc.).
