Quality Inspector(Class 4 Laser Safety) - Woodruff, SC (1099 Contract)

Responsibilities

• Inspect light tight enclosures to ensure containment of radiation to Class 1 levels.

Verify interlocks, shutters, barriers, and warning systems are functional.

Check administrative controls:

signage, restricted access, written procedures, and personnel training. Confirm PPE availability and use, especially laser protective eyewear. Maintain inspection records and corrective action reports. Empowered to halt laser operations if unsafe conditions are found Acts as the compliance link between operators, management, and regulatory bodies.

Technical Qualifications:

Laser Safety Officer; a formally designated inspector under

ANSI Z136.1

standards Technical or scientific background (physics, optics, engineering, or occupational safety). Formal training in laser safety principles, hazard evaluation, and control measures.

Certifications:

Completion of

ANSI Z136.1

laser safety training. Familiarity with OSHA requirements and institutional policies. Documented competency in evaluating Class 4 laser hazards.
