While those with experience are preferred, individuals willing to train and learn on the job are very welcome to apply. This role involves working outdoors on active construction sites and assisting with a variety of geotechnical and construction quality control activities. Typical workdays begin around 7:00 AM, though earlier start times may occasionally be required based on project schedules. Some overtime, weekend work, and limited overnight travel may be required. Primary Responsibilities Follow company and project-specific safety procedures at all times. Assist with geotechnical drilling and soil sampling operations. Perform soil compaction testing and observe grading activities. Conduct field testing of fresh concrete, including slump, air content, temperature, and unit weight testing. Prepare and handle concrete test cylinders. Record field observations, testing data, and inspection results accurately and in a timely manner. Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, and team members. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Ability to communicate effectively in English. Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Comfortable working in a safe manner on active construction sites and around heavy equipment. Previous experience in construction materials testing, geotechnical drilling, and/or related construction field work is preferred but not required. Individuals with strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. Compensation Compensation is based on experience, certifications, and qualifications. Entry-level candidates without experience can expect a starting hourly rate of $18.50 per hour, with opportunities for advancement and training.
