Job Description

I. Job Summary The Quality Calibration Technician is responsible for performing calibration inspections and ensuring the accuracy and traceability of all measuring equipment used across production lines. This role supports both in-house and third-party calibration efforts, maintains calibration records, and assists with quality investigations requiring precision measurement. II. Essential Job Functions Primary Job Functions (70%) - Quality Control Departmental Functions 1. Perform calibration inspections in accordance with current company procedures and gather calibration data for disposition. 2. Label gages with updated calibration information and validate the presence of third-party calibration labels for TTC gages. 3. Collect, receive, and evaluate gages processed through third-party calibration providers. 4. Maintain and update TTC's internal gage list and ensure appropriate backup gages are available. 5. Verify torque settings on production lines and support the use of calibrated gages for quality checks in machining and assembly. 6. Conduct GR&R investigations and complex studies using various gage families. 7. Investigate incident reports related to calibration and assist with measurement-related emergency and quality investigations. 8. Support other associates with gage calibration, repair, and measurement-related troubleshooting. Secondary Job Functions (20%) - Hierarchical Responsibilities 1. Liaise with third-party calibration service providers and support the calibration gage program. 2. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives involving measurement systems. 3. Provide guidance on technical drawings and measurement equipment usage. 4. Work flexible schedules, including other shifts, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required.   • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Additional coursework or training in metrology, mechanical inspection, or calibration processes is preferred. Physical Requirements and Working Environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for operating measurement tools and interpreting detailed drawings.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, moving parts, and moderate noise.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and temporary alternate shifts as required. Experience and Minimum Qualifications Needed
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a quality inspection or calibration environment.
  • Knowledge of measurement tools, calibration practices, and GR&R methodologies.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-directed, dependable, and positive attitude with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, torque wrenches, and similar equipment.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • The ability to work independently and maintain accurate calibration records.
Since this is an active position that involves supporting production in assembly and machining areas rather than sitting at a desk, the individual should be able to stand, walk, bend, and regularly lift up to 15-25 lbs.
Pay:
$22.60 - $26.40 per hour
