Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance Technician to join our team on our second shift (4pm-2am). The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative testing of beverages (liquid) throughout the entire production process, ensuring products and packaging meets standards. The Quality Assurance Technician - Analytical Lab evaluates ingredients and finished products to ensure both meet specifications. Additionally, performs quality audits and provides feedback to frontline team members on quality results and performance. Participates in and leads problem solving activities. Ensures all quality and compliance documentation is properly recorded and communicated to internal customers. Role and Responsibilities Ensure activities, processes and products are compliant with regulatory requirements including OSHA, TTB, DOA, FDA, etc. Work with internal and external customers by ensuring all quality and food safety systems are followed and properly documented. Help to identify issues with internal or external customer service and work to put corrective actions in place. Serve as a professional and friendly point of contact between internal customers. Participate in writing, organizing, and updating lab procedures. Follow all work instructions and provide feedback on laboratory specifications. Assist with cleaning and organizing the lab. Provide input for lab design efficiency, ergonomics, and safety. Proficiency in laboratory distillations. Troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory analytical instrumentation. Champion formalized problem-solving methods. Participate in and lead problem solving activities to standardize and improve processes. Partner with the production areas to identify key quality and food safety improvement areas and help drive process improvements. Support the quality organization and the broader operation in achieving operational excellence through championing problem solving, implementing sustainable processes, and identifying opportunities for operational improvements. Develop and maintain solid professional working relationships both inside and outside the company. Set a positive example and act in a manner consistent with company values. Qualifications and Education Requirements Must be able to work second shift for this role (4:30pm to around 3:00am) Science background, understanding fundamentals of laboratory functions. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in quality and/or analytical lab. PCQI Certification preferred. Experience with all Microsoft applications (Office, PowerPoint, etc.) Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Can work well under pressure. Ability to keep a clean and organized workspace. Must have a high attention to detail. Experience in the alcohol industry is preferred. Physical demands & work environment Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Required to stand, bend, lift and engage in repetitive motion. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Mental/Reasoning:
Must be able to perform root cause analysis and corrective action. Must be able to continuously learn and adapt to changes in the overall business.
Sensory:
Good Listening Skills; Public speaking abilities to communicate with both hourly and salaried personnel.
