Job Description

As a Quality Control Specialist I , you'll play a hands-on role in ensuring the quality of components that support critical manufacturing programs. - Perform first article, in‑process, and final inspections using CMMs, manual measurement tools, and visual methods.
- Set up and operate CMMs to verify part dimensions and compliance.
- Use precision tools—calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, optical comparators—to inspect components with accuracy.
- Partner closely with shop floor teams to verify product quality at every stage.
- Evaluate inspection data to determine conformance to engineering and quality requirements.
- Complete clear, detailed inspection reports including first article documentation.
- Upload inspection and quality records to internal systems to support traceability.
- Document and track nonconformances and assist in resolution.
- Perform routine CMM maintenance and keep work areas clean and organized.
- Follow Centrus quality management system procedures and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Share your knowledge by training others on inspection tools and best practices when needed.
- Support production goals with occasional evening or weekend work.
- Always practice safe work behaviors and uphold site safety standards.
- Take on additional assignments as needed. What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of dimensional inspection experience , including hands‑on CMM use.
- Working knowledge of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5) .
- Excellent attention to detail and confidence reading mechanical drawings and CAD models.
- Ability to manage tasks with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
- Strong written communication skills for documenting procedures and reports.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, production, and quality teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a DOE Q‑level security clearance . Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating Zeiss CMMs using Calypso software .
- Background inspecting tight‑tolerance, high‑value components .
