Job Description:
Job Purpose Perform the process development or quality testing needed to confirm that incoming raw materials, in-process production, and final product materials meet expected specifications, while following lab safety practices and good manufacturing practices. Key Responsibilities and Duties Follow good manufacturing practices to ensure that all documentation is accurate, reliable, and compliant with regulatory standards Follow and utilize the Quality Management System Manual for guidance of job operation. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and test equipment, along with routine calibration of but not limited to GC
  • Gas chromatographs XRF
  • X-ray fluorescence FTIR
  • Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy PSA
  • Particle size analyzer Perform quality tests to identify compliance or non-compliance Perform routine audits of but not limited to: Extrusion equipment Support equipment Quality Systems Standard Operating Procedures Warehouse program Maintenance program Production program Quality program Record test results for record keeping that could be subject to audit Prepare samples, reagents, and solutions, using flammable liquids and acids in a hood Troubleshoot processes, test methods, and equipment Clean lab equipment, test equipment, and the laboratory working environment Monitors, maintains, and utilizes Statistical Process Control (SPC) as a means for quality awareness and improvement Provide support in diagnostics of extrusion equipment and support equipment Experience, Educational and Technical Qualifications Bachelor's degree in science related field preferred At least 5 years of manufacturing or laboratory experience Strong technical background Abilities Required Prompt and regular attendance Independently perform routine tests in a timely manner Exercise good judgment when test results do not appear reasonable Effective verbal and written communication skills Work in a team environment and build relationships with other areas of the organization Record accurate and legible data using good documentation practices

Climbing:
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs and equipment, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Needs good body agility.
Stooping:

Bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine.
Reaching:
Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Talking:
Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. This includes activities where detailed or important spoken instruction must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Hearing:
Perceiving the nature of sounds with no less than 40 dB at 500 Hz, 100 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without correction. Able to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machine parts.
Repetitive Motion:
Substantial movements of the arms, hand and/or fingers.
Vision:
Must be able to prepare and analyze data and figures. Eye sight capable of seeing small defects at distances close to the eyes.

  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Environmental Working Conditions:
