Job Description

The ideal candidate will complete daily quality activities such as perform tests, gather samples, inspect product etc. Responsible to complete quality activities as needed such as check/test samples, place product on hold, assist in destroying product. The following are primary duties, but others can be assigned:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete accurate daily quality activities perform (tests, gather samples, inspect product etc.) Complete quality activities as needed, such as check/test samples, place product on hold, assist in destroying product. Verify weights and validate findings. Completing and providing daily Quality reports with production supervisors. Perform product grading to ensure outgoing product meets quality standards Perform packaging water dunk test Verify proper date coding on both primary and secondary packaging (bags and boxes). Perform quality testing for product moisture, salt, oil, oxygen, or other product criteria. Perform FFA oil testing for new deliveries and in house as well. Ensure accurate completion and retention of all testing documentation. Verify all metal detectors' proper operation Inspect production lines for acceptable product start-ups, changeovers and allergen cleanups. Monitor employees for proper work conduct including but not limited to GMP's, SOP's, food safety, and all other such standards of the plant. Test new deliveries of corn kernels for breakage and visual inspection. Monitor production lines during production using lab instruments. Collect and store finished product retention samples from the production areas. Complete required daily QC reporting activities during plant production. Achieve performance levels as set by the company Always keep work areas clean and orderly and perform other housekeeping duties as assigned. Testing finished products and raw materials for compliance with client specifications and standards Train production staff on quality control procedures and standards. Additional duties include preparing for audits, documenting results in record keeping database and other duties as assigned. Flexibility to work consecutive days, night, overtime and weekends if necessary. Required Competencies; Education / Knowledge /
Skills and Abilities:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three-years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience within a food manufacturing environment. Mechanical/technical/interpersonal - Skills can be applied immediately to job duties; a specialist in the details of a work function Must be able to read, speak, write and communicate effectively at the work location (preferably bilingual, English and Spanish language). Must have excellent attention to detail. Must be able to demonstrate the skills and abilities necessary to safely operate the equipment. Knowledge of basic math. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to accurately identify and weigh product ingredients. Ability to use a computer proficiently, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and property operating software. High level of organization skills (computer documents, files, information, keeping in order and well organized) Ability to perform assigned or required work with minimal supervision and ability to collaborate when needed. Ability to recognize conditions or situations that would have a negative impact on customer service or facility operations and take appropriate follow-up action. Ability to work in and with Teamwork. Ability to effectively communicate with managers, customers, and other employees of the organization.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand 8-12 hours. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Standing and walking for long periods of time, up to 8 hours per day. •
