Job Title:
Quality Assurance Technician Job Description This role supports a leading electrical panel manufacturer and industrial electrical supplies warehouse by maintaining quality standards across warehouse and assembly operations. The Quality Assurance Technician ensures the facility meets
ISO 9001
requirements, responds to customer certification requests, and drives continuous improvement in warehouse efficiency. The position involves creating and maintaining detailed reports, graphs, charts, and documentation in spreadsheets and other computer programs to support audits, quality initiatives, and inventory control. Responsibilities Maintain warehouse and assembly areas in full compliance with
ISO 9001
standards and audit requirements. Prepare for and support
ISO 9001
audits, including organizing documentation, records, and evidence of compliance. Interact professionally and confidently with ISO auditors, responding to questions and providing required documentation. Respond to customer requests for certifications, product travelers, and related quality documentation in a timely manner. Create, update, and maintain reports, graphs, charts, and presentations to communicate quality and operational performance. Log and track orders, certifications, and quality records in spreadsheets and other computer programs. Perform quality inspections and quality control checks on products and materials as needed. Measure, verify, and document quality attributes in accordance with QA/QC procedures and regulatory expectations. Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings to ensure products meet required specifications. Support inventory accuracy through activities such as cycle counting and verification of materials. Contribute ideas to improve warehouse efficiency, organization, and quality processes, and help implement approved improvements. Collaborate closely with warehouse staff and office personnel to resolve quality issues and improve workflows. Ensure proper documentation and tracking of Mill Test Reports (MTRs) and other quality certifications. Support OEM-related documentation and quality requirements for electrical products. Use Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office tools to manage data, generate reports, and prepare presentations. Essential Skills At least 5+ years of experience performing quality assurance in accordance with
ISO 9001
standards. Proven ability to interact effectively with ISO auditors and support audit activities. Hands-on experience in a warehousing environment, preferably related to industrial or electrical products. Strong knowledge of quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) practices, including inspection, measuring, and reporting. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word for data entry, reporting, and documentation. Ability to create clear graphs, charts, and other visual presentations of data. Experience with inventory processes, including cycle counting and inventory tracking. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Familiarity with regulatory and certification documentation, including MTRs and product certifications. Strong computer literacy and comfort working with various software tools and spreadsheets. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of the electrical industry and electrical products. Understanding of industrial and refinery industries and their typical requirements. Experience working with OEM-related quality and documentation. Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate data and findings clearly. Enjoys camaraderie and collaboration with coworkers in a team-oriented environment. General familiarity with Microsoft Office applications beyond Excel and Word is a plus. Background in quality assurance testing or regulatory-focused roles is beneficial. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is primarily based at a warehouse in Deer Park, Texas, with approximately 75% of the time spent at this location and about 25% at a nearby panel shop facility in Houston. Both locations are small, around 10,000 square feet, fostering a close-knit environment. The Deer Park site has roughly 35 employees total, with about 20 typically on-site, including around 5 warehouse team members and 15 office personnel. The culture is collaborative and relaxed, with employees engaging in trivia games before daily meetings to build team spirit. The position operates on a day shift, Monday through Friday, totaling about 40 hours per week, with flexible start times of 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., or 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., depending on the employee's preference, and weekends are rarely required. The dress code consists of pants or jeans, a collared shirt, and closed-toe shoes, suitable for a warehouse and light office environment. Work is computer-based for reporting and documentation, combined with time on the warehouse floor performing inspections and quality checks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Deer Park, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
