This role involves mechanical repair, surface preparation, sealing, and basic fabrication while maintaining adherence to company standards and safety guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform container rework activities including repair, replacement, and refurbishment of components Install and remove bolts, including thread retaping as needed Perform rivet thread repair, replacement, and nut rivet installation Conduct exterior preparation work including sanding, buffing, caulking, and painting Complete interior touch-up painting and finishing work to meet quality standards Repair or replace mesh screens, rubber seals, and ground wires Conduct basic fabrication and minor structural repairs as needed Follow torque specifications for all installations to ensure safety and compliance Inspect completed work to verify quality and adherence to standards Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Follow all company policies, work instructions, and safety guidelines Support material movement and assist with inventory or documentation when required Participate in continuous improvement efforts and special projects as assigned Required Skills and Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required 2+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical repair, construction, fabrication, or related field preferred Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and repair equipment Ability to interpret work instructions and technical specifications Basic fabrication and mechanical repair skills Knowledge of torque specifications and application Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Strong prioritization and organizational skills Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment Working Conditions Work performed in industrial and warehouse environments Exposure to varying temperatures, including humid and cold conditions Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and use of tools This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
