Food Science QA/Data Analyst Location :
Irving, Texas (Onsite)
Duration :
12-month contract to start with strong potential for extension and/or conversion Our client, a global leader in the convenience retail industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Food Science Quality Assurance Data Analyst for a long-term contract (12+ months to start) with strong potential for extension or conversion to full-time. This is an onsite role in Irving, Texas. This role provides operational and administrative support to Merchandising and Business Development teams by enabling supply and formula management through regulatory data governance, cross-functional workflows, system support, and product lifecycle management. The role requires strong analytical ability and the capacity to translate technical system processes into business needs.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide ongoing technical and administrative support for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of the TraceGains platform and related modules supporting Supply and Formula Management Develop and maintain knowledge of system workflows, technical processes, and SOPs across user roles Maintain centralized and accurate data libraries for suppliers, raw materials, packaging, formulas, and specifications by enforcing consistent data entry standards Assist with onboarding and training internal users and external suppliers/partners on TraceGains systems, data entry requirements, and best practices Support supplier communications including onboarding, document collection, regulatory and nutritional data intake, and follow-ups to improve response and approval timelines Review raw materials for basic regulatory documentation completeness to support nutritional labeling Generate ad-hoc reports from TraceGains and provide metric insights to support business decisions Drive continuous improvement initiatives including process optimization, automation opportunities, and system enhancements to reduce manual work and regulatory risk
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Food Science, Nutrition, or related field
Experience:
1-3 years in SaaS, supply chain management, or FSQA/regulatory environments
Certifications:
HACCP preferred; certifications in data security, FDA, or USDA programs a plus
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams) and ability to learn cloud-based systems such as TraceGains or Genesis Understanding of SaaS platforms including user roles, data access, migration, and document security High attention to detail in data-intensive environments Strong organizational skills and ability to manage routine tasks independently Self-starter with ability to work proactively with minimal supervision Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to train users and collaborate across cross-functional teams Customer service mindset when working with vendors and internal stakeholders Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
NICE TO HAVE
Experience with TraceGains or Genesis in an administrator or advanced user role Advanced Excel skills for data extraction, validation, and reporting Understanding of retail merchandising or PLM processes including vendor/item setup and supplier management Familiarity with QA/QMS systems and
