We are looking for dependable, detail-oriented individuals who understand vehicle inspections, preventative maintenance, and how to work in a fast-paced automotive shop. State Inspector experience is preferred, but we are willing to pay for the class for qualified individuals who are not currently certified. This is not a sit-behind-a-desk job. This position requires working in and around the shop throughout the day. Applicants must be comfortable working outside and in shop conditions, including Texas heat, cold weather, rain, and other changing weather conditions. Position Overview As a State Inspector / Quick Lube Technician, you will be responsible for performing Texas state inspections, assisting with quick lube services, recommending needed maintenance, and helping keep vehicles moving through the shop efficiently. You will work closely with our service advisors, technicians, and management team to provide accurate inspections, quality service, and a strong customer experience. Responsibilities Perform vehicle inspections in accordance with Texas DPS regulations. Complete inspections accurately, honestly, and in compliance with all state requirements. Identify and recommend maintenance services based on inspection findings, vehicle condition, and manufacturer recommendations. Perform and promote preventative maintenance services, including oil changes, filters, batteries, fluids, wipers, lights, and other basic vehicle maintenance items. Communicate clearly with service advisors, technicians, and management. Help explain inspection findings and service recommendations when needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow company processes, shop procedures, and safety standards. Work efficiently in a high-volume quick lube and automotive repair environment. Work outside and around the shop in heat, cold, rain, and normal shop conditions. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have a valid driver's license. Texas State Inspector Certification is preferred. We will pay for the State Inspector class for qualified non-certified applicants. Previous vehicle inspection, quick lube, or automotive maintenance experience is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of Texas DPS inspection regulations is a plus. Must be detail-oriented and committed to accuracy and safety. Must be dependable, on time, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be comfortable working outdoors and around an active automotive shop. Must be able to communicate well with team members and customers.
