Quality Manager Position Summary The Quality Control Technician is responsible for monitoring food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing and packaging process to ensure products meet company and regulatory standards. This role conducts and reviews pre-operational inspections, environmental swabs, and sanitation checks to verify that production areas and equipment meet required cleanliness standards. The technician ensures employees follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), performs Critical Control Point (CCP) monitoring and documentation, and supports compliance with food safety programs. Responsibilities also include verifying the quality of incoming raw ingredients, managing product hold and disposition processes, collecting samples for laboratory testing, and authorizing finished product release. The Quality Control Technician works closely with production and receiving teams to maintain product integrity, regulatory compliance, and consistent quality standards. Core Responsibilities The quality control technician is accountable for: Monitoring food safety throughout the manufacturing and packaging process Responsible for performing/reviewing pre-operational inspections and swabs Monitoring daily cleaning & sanitation duties Responsible for ensuring the correct SOPs are being followed Ensure all the employees are following GMP's Keep track of product on hold and/or disposition Working with receiving to assure raw ingredients quality Perform Critical Control Point checks and record keeping Collect product samples for lab tests Finished product release Required Qualifications A bachelors degree in a science or quality related field OR 2-4 years of production quality control experience Prior experience in a food environment Familiarity with analytical testing methods a plus Must demonstrate the ability to analyze and summarize data Self-motivated with proven leadership skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Physical Demands Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Required to stand and walk for the major part of the shift Must be able to work in a team environment Must have a positive attitude Must have good written and oral communication skills Bilingual - English/Spanish is a plus Ability to work in fast-paced, effectively under pressure, and deadline-oriented environment Flexible availability for second shift/over time Must Complete the Culture Index Survey to be considered.
