Job Description
As a Quality Control Inspector, your role is to ensure all Fluoroseal products meet the highest standards of quality and comply with all purchase order specifications and requirements, whether these products are purchased from suppliers or manufactured in United States facilities. Your primary responsibility is to inspect, test, and evaluate materials, components, capital assets, and finished products in accordance with applicable procedures before shipment to customers or other Fluoroseal locations. You will work closely with Fluoroseal Quality Assurance and Procurement teams to identify and address any deviations or quality issues promptly.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials, components, and parts for orders placed by Fluoroseal entities to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications before being used in production. Perform comprehensive receiving inspections upon arrival at the facility and approve inspection records accordingly. Ensure products (machinery, capital assets, valve assemblies, components, and related parts) meet established quality standards, purchase order specifications, drawings, applicable codes/standards, and any special requirements. Inspect products in accordance with Fluoroseal inspection procedures and customer requirements. Conduct various tests and measurements on finished products to assess quality, functionality, and performance using calibrated measuring equipment and approved testing methods. Accurately record inspection findings, test results, and any quality issues detected during the inspection process. Maintain detailed reports, deviations, and non-conformance records for reference and analysis. Ensure traceability by recording serial numbers, inspection numbers, lot numbers, heat numbers, and other relevant identifiers. Perform visual inspections for defects, surface imperfections, labeling accuracy, workmanship, and overall appearance. Prepare and submit inspection reports in a timely manner to meet required lead times and delivery schedules. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure inspections are completed on time. Verify proper assembly, labeling, packaging, and shipment readiness. Perform receiving inspections in accordance with Fluoroseal procedures and work instructions. If required, perform machining inspections in accordance with Fluoroseal procedures and work instructions. Witness assembly and testing activities in accordance with Fluoroseal procedures and work instructions. Final Inspection Perform final inspection in accordance with applicable work instructions, including: Verification of assembly work order completion Verification of final product against shipping/delivery documentation Verification of final dimensions (face-to-face, flange thickness, diameter, drilling, raised face diameter and height, etc.) based on required sample size Verification of test reports for completeness, including serial numbers, heat numbers, material conformance, and required markings Verification of nameplates and supplemental tags, including customer and regulatory requirements where applicable Verification of subcomponents used during production Other inspection points such as machined ends free from defects, valves in open position when required, coating/painting correctly applied, end protectors installed, and general product condition acceptable Cross-check inspection results against relevant documentation (MTRs, X-ray reports, LPI reports, certificates, etc.) Witness and review non-destructive testing activities including hardness, roughness, spark testing, PMI, MPI, LPI, RT, pressure testing, and supporting documentation. Witness cleanliness inspections (white light, UV inspection, wipe test, solvent inspection) and ensure helium, hydrostatic, pneumatic, and functional testing procedures are properly performed when required. Ensure continuity of calibration for active measuring and test equipment. Maintain calibration logs up to date. Assign identification numbers to new measuring tools and equipment. Ensure only calibrated instruments are used in production and inspection. Maintain calibration certificates in the system/database and report any calibration issues to management.Pay:
