Job Description

Supervises materials planning, requisitioning, materials control, and warehouse functions. Typically supervises materials functions and employees within a business unit.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to:
  • Perform all assigned duties.
  • Effectively coordinate utilization of equipment, materials and personnel.
  • Exhibit strong customer service and maintains good customer relationships.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, labor planning and scheduling, and process / change management skills.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical abilities and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal, negotiation, coaching and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), ERP (Oracle preferred) and PC skills.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge:
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations.
  • General knowledge of shop and/or field operations and gas compression industry.
  • Knowledge of material handler and requisition function.
Minimum Education and Certification:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, college credits in a business and or technical field strongly desired.
Minimum Experience:
  • Typically at least 5 years experience in materials management related role (e.
g. warehouse and/or procurement).
Leadership:
  • Supervises all resources (personnel, equipment, materials, facilities, funds and reputation) for assigned area.
  • Coordinates schedule and sets priorities in order to ensure task completion.
  • Trains new employees. Assesses training needs of team members and requests additional training as necessary.
  • Coaches and counsels team to improve skills.
  • Provides input to performance management and assists with employee development.
  • Provides input to hire, fire, job and salary change actions per delegation of authority and required approvals.
  • Implements and communicates work standards and performance metrics for assigned team.

  • Must be fit for duty for the job tasks being performed.
  • Must meet the medical requirements necessary to wear PPE required by role.
  • Frequently required to display good manual dexterity and to reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to perform repetitive motions, sit while using PC and to stand and walk with good balance.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, twist, kneel, and squat.
  • Occasionally required to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds and to push and pull up to 110 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to climb, stairs and slanted ladders and carry up to 30 pounds with one hand.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Essential Duties:
  • Champion service quality, health, safety, environmental policies, standards and process improvement.
  • Implement and maintain an Inventory Cycle count program that achieves 99% accurate inventory levels. Ensure material control throughout one or more facilities with inventory values of at least $1M.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities to dispose of slow moving or obsolete material.
  • Work with Corporate Supply Chain to identify and establish long-term strategic relationships with critical suppliers.
  • Review and analyze supply chain activity reports and metrics and determine appropriate actions.
  • Assist with managing supply chain performance to established KPI's in respective area and drive targeted improvement plan.
  • Work with other departments to communicate supplier performance issues and develop improvement plans.
  • Participate in periodic management reviews of operational measures and corrective actions.
  • Implement operational standards and processes.
Non-Essential Duties:
Performs other duties as assigned. All employees shall be in compliance with the Archrock Health Safety and Environmental Policy and local, statutory and/or regulatory requirements at all times.
