Job Description

Job Description - Experience preferred This position is primarily a field position in the construction industry to ensure quality control of construction projects on site. Specifically, monitoring soil characteristics and compaction, casting concrete cylinders for compressive strength testing, and other inspections as needed. Looking for reliable candidate with clean driving record and ability to travel overnight with expenses paid. Not a set hourly schedule. No limit on overtime hours. Able to communicate and assist clients effectively with a professional and friendly attitude. Performs variety of soil tests including but not limited to density testing and soil classification. Prepares concrete cylinders for compression strength tests and other concrete tests as required. Sample materials in the field Logging in samples for analyzing. Provides information to customers and co-workers about the department abilities/schedules upon request. Works with management to investigate and resolve customer problems or complaints. Able to work effectively in Word, Excel, and Adobe. Follows Standard Operating Procedures while carrying out the responsibilities of position. Attends all meetings and training sessions as required. Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Clean driving record Construction quality control experience preferred
