Position Summary The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all electrical panels meet established quality and performance standards prior to shipment to customers. This role conducts detailed inspections, performs functional testing, and documents results while partnering with internal stakeholders to identify and resolve quality issues. Key Responsibilities Check welding, bending and structural robustness of custom outdoor enclosures. Ensure the enclosure is properly constructed, painted, and dimensionally accurate to prevent assembly issues, including checking for damage, corrosion, and proper component mounting. Inspect sealants, gaskets, and locking mechanisms to ensure protection against dust, rain, and ice. Inspect wiring for correct routing, termination, color coding, ferrule application, and tightening torque. This ensures adherence to wiring diagrams and prevents loose connections that can cause system failure. Inspect inverters, batteries, and solar charge controllers for compliance with power/voltage ratings. Conduct continuity tests to verify circuit completion and complete the Functionality Inspection Record. Troubleshoot to identify the source of faults on the systems and if needed, communicate to engineering through established processes. Record all test defects and communicate to production team for rework. Monitor production lines to ensure compliance with company standards and identify defects early in the production cycle. Inspect electrical panels based on engineering drawings and specifications to ensure they meet quality standards. Document inspection results, including taking pictures of any defects or issues. Maintaining open communication with production, engineering, project management and procurement to address and resolve quality issues. Coordinate with the shipping team when systems are ready to ship. Responsible for the accuracy and completion of all inspection transactions. May perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or technical certification in quality control or a related field preferred. A minimum of 1 year of experience in electrical panel manufacturing or similar industry. Strong attention to detail, basic mathematical skills, and the ability to read blueprints or technical documents. Proficiency with basic measurement tools, such as multimeter, calipers, and measuring tape. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Excellent time-management skills, independent flexible thinker with a sense of urgency. Quality-minded, strong attention to details. Must have the ability to read, speak and write in English fluently. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds Work performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fabrication equipment May work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions Must be able to work additional hours on a regular basis. This position may involve a standard schedule that includes Saturdays.
