Quality Control Materials Engineering Technician

Gillmann Services is seeking a Construction Materials Technician to conduct materials testing to ensure products meet the design quality standards. This position requires physically demanding work in field conditions through all four season, including but not limited to walking and standing for long stretches and requires the ability of lifting up to 50 pounds. References, work history and DMV records will be verified prior to employment. Passing drug test required prior to hiring.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of mathematics including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry Skill in the use of field testing equipment, inspection methods and materials Skill in the use of computers and software applications Ability to maintain detailed testing documentation and reports Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Ability to obtain required certifications within 12 months of employment and maintain thereafter Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications Possession of current ACI and/or VDOT certifications in the areas of HMA (asphalt), HCC (concrete), and Soils/Aggregates. Experience with construction, civil engineering, project management or materials inspection Experience in highway and bridge construction inspection Knowledge of roadway, structure and bridge construction methods, materials, standards and terminology Possession of current ACI and/or VDOT certifications in the areas of HMA (asphalt) and HCC (concrete) "
