Job Description

Quality Control Technician Southern Graphic Systems, LLC life insurance, flexible benefit account, long term disability, 401(k) United States, Virginia, Sandston 5301 Lewis Road (Show on map) Jun 18, 2026 Description $1,000 Sign-On Bonus available for eligible new hires, paid in two installments and subject to company guidelines. The starting pay for this position is $21/hour. Employees are eligible for two, 50-cent increases over the first year if they pass the competency assessments.
Hours:
8:00am - 4:30pm
Quality Control Verify:
Color accuracy (densities, shade consistency) Print registration and alignment Image quality, defects, and overall appearance Compare production output to approved proofs and job specifications. Documentation & Reporting Record inspection results, defects, and corrective actions in quality systems. Maintain logs, test records, and SOP compliance documentation. Generate non-conformance reports and track issues to resolution. Defect Identification & Process Control Identify trends such as: Ensure proper ink laydown Print defects (streaking, pinholes, misregistration) Communicate issues to press operators and production leadership. Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions. Authority & Quality Enforcement Enforce quality standards and SOPs during production. May exercise "stop-the-line authority" when product does not meet specifications. Continuous Improvement Work with operations to improve print quality and reduce waste. Support audits (ISO, GMP, customer audits) and quality programs. Core Competencies Strong attention to detail and visual inspection ability Ability to follow SOPs and documentation systems precisely Analytical thinking and problem-solving Clear communication with operators and supervisors Typical Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 1-3+ years experience in: Printing, packaging, or manufacturing QC Familiarity with ISO or other quality standards is a plus Work Environment Fast-paced, high-speed manufacturing facilities Exposure to: Noise, solvents, inks, and moving machinery May require standing for long periods Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay for this position is $21.00 USD hourly. Ultimately, in determining pay, we will consider the successful candidate's location, experience, and other job-related factors.
