Job Title:
Quality Inspector Job Description The Quality Inspector performs detailed inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished goods to ensure they meet established mechanical, electrical, and PCBA specifications. This role uses a variety of measuring instruments and statistical techniques to verify product quality, supports audits and failure investigations, and contributes to continuous improvement of inspection methods and quality processes. Responsibilities Perform daily inspections on incoming parts, in-process components, and final release of finished goods. Inspect mechanical, electrical, and PCBA raw and incoming materials against approved specifications. Utilize statistical techniques to determine appropriate sample sizes for inspections. Identify, select, and use metrology gauges and instruments to perform accurate measurements. Provide recommendations and implement inspection and testing methods to enhance product quality. Develop and improve quality tools for inspection to create process efficiencies and reduce turnaround times. Analyze inspection data to review and improve current inspection methodologies and overall inspection performance. Enhance quality inspection processes by ensuring consistent compliance with defined quality standards and industry best practices. Understand project definitions, team roles, and responsibilities to effectively support quality initiatives. Evaluate proposed ideas and solutions related to inspection processes by comparing them to specific criteria or standards. Support periodic inspections and calibration of equipment and instruments to maintain measurement accuracy. Program automated measuring instruments and tools used in inspection activities. Support internal and external audits by providing inspection records, data, and process information. Assist in failure investigations and prepare related documentation to identify root causes and corrective actions. Perform special projects as assigned by leadership in support of quality and operational goals. Provide backup support for other quality assurance functions as required. Follow all applicable safety requirements while performing inspection and related tasks. Essential Skills High school diploma and 2-4 years of related quality inspection or similar experience. Proven ability to accurately use basic measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers. Ability to read and interpret procedures, technical drawings, and blueprints. requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write procedures and release documents in a document control system. Ability to clearly describe non-conformities and investigation results in written form. Demonstrated quality mindset with strong attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a timely manner. Self-starter with strong organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Willingness to learn and grow within the quality function. Commitment to following safety requirements. Familiarity with MS Office software. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as part of daily duties. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with ISO regulations is desirable. Familiarity with FDA cGMP regulations is desirable. Experience in quality control, quality assurance, and quality inspection in a production environment. Experience performing visual inspections and quality checks on production parts. Comfort working with metrology tools, gauges, and automated measuring instruments. Experience supporting internal and external audits. Work Environment This role operates in a production and inspection environment that involves working with mechanical, electrical, and PCBA components. You will regularly use metrology gauges, measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers, and automated measuring instruments, as well as standard office software like MS Office for documentation and data analysis. The position includes handling and lifting items up to 40 pounds and requires adherence to established safety requirements at all times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Bothell, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $31.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
