Job Title:
Quality Inspector Job Description The quality inspector for machined parts is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of parts produced by CNC machines or other machining processes. This role involves using various tools and instruments to measure and inspect the parts for defects, deviations, and damages. The quality inspector documents and reports findings to ensure parts meet customer specifications and requirements. Responsibilities Receive parts from the machining process and verify quantity and identification. Read blueprints and specifications to ensure operations meet drawing requirements. Select appropriate gauges for inspection and calibrate/verify them if needed. Follow inspection plans and procedures to check for defects, deviations, or damages. Record inspection data and results, comparing them to specifications and requirements. Tag or segregate nonconforming or defective parts and report them to the supervisor. Maintain inspection records and documents, ensuring their accuracy and completeness. Essential Skills Familiarity with hand tools, gauges, and surface plates. Proficiency in blueprint reading and math skills. Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Proficiency in using inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Good eyesight - 20/20 with or without corrective lenses. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in quality control and assurance for machined parts. Ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position operates during the day shift, Monday-Friday, for 40 hours a week, with opportunities for overtime. The inspection lab is well-lit with individual workstations equipped with surface plates, PCs, stools, and anti-fatigue mats. It is a temperature and humidity-controlled area, maintaining a comfortable range of 66-70°F. The lab is FOD controlled, prohibiting food/snacks at workstations, and requiring sealable lids for drink containers. A break area with microwaves, refrigerators, and coffee machines is available. Casual work attire is acceptable, with jeans, t-shirts, and closed-toe shoes recommended. Safety glasses are not required in the lab but must be worn in other areas of the manufacturing facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Monroe, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
