293190234 Job Description CMM Programmer/Operator/ In Process Inspector Spokane, WA Description CMM Programmer/Operator/ In Process Inspector Spokane Valley, WA Job Description This position at Sytech will be responsible for CMM Programming, inspection, and Quality. This individual will collaborate alongside other Quality Inspectors as well as the Quality Manager in an ever evolving and fast-paced environment to perform daily material, product, and process inspection tasks, which is vital to the level of quality that Sytech strives to provide for our customers. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a deep understanding of CMM programming and operation, with a strong foundation in quality inspection, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem solving to join our team. The ideal candidate should be a highly detail-oriented professional, organized, with a strong background in quality assurance and more specifically, precision measurement. Will work within the group to achieve quality, productivity, and employee performance goals. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Develop, program, and optimize CMM programs for new and existing components and products. Perform routine operation of the CMM. This includes setup, measurement, and calibration. Analyze, interpret, and generate comprehensive reports, including graphical representations of measured data, deviations, and trends. Collaborate with other quality professionals to review and interpret CMM data for product improvement. Diagnose complex issues with CMM operations and implement effective and actionable solutions. Lead projects aimed at enhancing CMM efficiency and accuracy, utilizing lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Participate in cross-functional teams to integrate CMM data into broader continuous improvement initiatives. Propose and implement innovations in CMM technology and processes to keep pace with industry standards and advancements. Implement 5S methodology in the CMM areas to ensure a well-organized, efficient, and safe working environment. Continuously identify and eliminate waste in the CMM process, such as unnecessary movements, over-processing, or underutilized resources. Follow Sytech's SOPs within the designated work environment as indicated. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Technical Knowledge Proficiency in CMM programming and operation, with a solid understanding of how CMM software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Zone3, Polyworks) behaves. Familiarity with general inspection processes, built-in-quality model, and the importance of precision measurement. Comprehensive understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles. General knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and SPC/SQC applications. Skills Strong organizational skills, with the capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Communicate effectively to present complex data and technical information clearly to a non-technical audience. Interpersonal Skills to work effectively within the quality group and other departments. Abilities Possess the ability to read, interpret, and understand drawings, technical documents, and manuals to ensure that materials, products, and parts meet Sytech's quality standards and exceed customer expectations. Experience in the utilization of precision measurement tools, such as micrometers, calipers, profilometers. Ability to identify and report common problems with CMM operation while troubleshooting standard operational issues. Ability to identify and maintain a 5S-driven workspace. Education & Experience 2-3 years of Quality Assurance/Control experience, preferably in an
ISO 9001
production environment. Associate degree (preferred) or combination of technical training and experience considered. Proficiency in basic math with verbal and written communication skills to report findings and interact with team members. Environmental Exposure Manufacturing metal fabrication environment. Confined spaces, high noise levels, moving objects such as machinery, forklifts and carts. Exposure to hot or cold temperatures when working in areas of the building that cannot be temperature controlled (especially during summer months). Contact with metals, lubricants, and solvents. Physical Demands Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Adaptable to a changing work environment. Contact with metals, lubricants, solvents, and exposure to noise. Must be able to maintain a quick and steady pace working efficiently throughout the shift. Rotation of head/neck, bending and twisting at the waist, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, use of high and low impact vibratory tools, flexion/extension, contact with metals, lubricants, solvents, exposure to noise, and the use of personal safety gear for face, eyes, hand/arm and ears. Good manual dexterity is required for operating equipment and moving workpieces. Frequently lift to/from floor-up to 50 lbs.
