Job Description

Nesco Resource is looking for an SMT Inspector located in Brookfield, CT. This is a temp to perm opportunity for the right candidate.
Shift:
Monday-Friday 7AM-3:30PM (OT possible after training cycle)
Pay:
$20-$22 Based on
Experience Position Summary:
The SMT Inspector is responsible for monitoring and inspecting printed circuit board assemblies using automated inspection equipment to ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards. This role focuses on machine-based inspection processes rather than manual, bench-level inspection. Key Responsibilities Perform inspection of PCB assemblies using SMT inspection equipment (e.g., AOI, SPI, or similar systems) Review inspection results and verify solder joints, component placement, polarity, and workmanship Identify, document, and report defects and non-conformances Route products for rework or repair as needed based on inspection results Verify and validate inspection programs and settings as required Monitor production output to ensure quality standards are met throughout the SMT process Work with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve defects and process issues Support production schedules through timely and accurate inspection activities Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives Maintain inspection equipment and report any issues or calibration needs Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Perform other related duties as assigned Requirements High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred Minimum of one (1) year experience in SMT inspection, AOI inspection, or PCB quality inspection or several years of experience in SMT or PCB assembly Experience working with automated inspection systems (AOI, SPI, or similar) strongly preferred Strong ability to identify defects related to soldering, component placement, and workmanship Familiarity with
IPC-A-610
standards (certification a plus) Understanding of SMT processes and PCB assembly flow Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and work instructions Strong attention to detail and good documentation skills Basic computer skills for inspection systems and reporting Ability to stand, sit, and move throughout the day and lift up to 50 lbs as needed Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
