This role is essential in ensuring that welding processes and completed welds meet stringent industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of welding techniques, quality control procedures, and relevant standards such as
ISO 13485, ISO
9001, and FDA regulations. As a Welding Inspector, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and safety of our products through rigorous inspection, analysis, and documentation. Duties Conduct thorough visual inspections of welds to verify compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines to assess weld dimensions and tolerances. Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, including vision inspection systems and other advanced techniques, to detect internal or surface defects. Review welding procedures and certifications to ensure adherence to
ISO 13485, FDA
regulations, and other applicable quality management systems. Collect data during inspections for traceability and quality analysis; prepare detailed reports documenting findings and discrepancies. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to address non-conformances through corrective actions aligned with HACCP, CGMP, and QA/QC protocols. Participate in quality audits and internal reviews to uphold
ISO 9001
standards and continuous improvement initiatives. Support calibration of measurement tools and equipment regularly to maintain measurement accuracy. Assist in developing inspection plans and procedures that align with industry best practices for quality assurance. Contribute to maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements related to medical device manufacturing or other regulated industries. Qualifications Proven experience as a Welding Inspector or in a similar quality control role within manufacturing environments. Strong knowledge of welding techniques, inspection methods, and relevant standards such as
ISO 13485, ISO 9001, FDA
regulations. Proficiency with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, vision inspection systems, and coordinate measuring machines. Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS), QA/QC processes, and conducting quality audits. Experience with data collection tools and analysis skills for defect identification and process improvement. Knowledge of HACCP principles, CGMP guidelines, and manufacturing best practices in regulated industries is desirable. Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for defect detection and root cause analysis. Effective communication skills for reporting findings clearly to cross-functional teams.
